The Chilindi site was opened by the local government administration in March 2022. The site was opened to receive forcibly displaced persons from the districts of Macomia, Palma, Mocimboa da Praia, Nangade and Muidumbe. Solidarities International (SI) is the Site Management Agency (SMA). There are 9,950 IDPs (all ages). District Service Department of Planning and Infrastructure (SDPI) in close coordination with the Ngapa administration allocated plots of 20×15 meters to the families in the site. Access to basic infrastructure and services remain limited; health services and health facilities, schools, lighting, reliable water supply network, absence of livelihood opportunities, and poor road network remain critical gaps
