Basateen is a neighborhood in the outskirts of Aden Governorate. It hosts 17,301 asylum seekers and refugees, the majority of whom comes from Somalia and Ethiopia.
Basateen neighborhood also hosts IDPs, IDP returnees and local Yemeni communities. After eight years of the conflict, families are living in dire conditions.
UNHCR and partners are the only providers of humanitarian and protection services to asylum seekers and refugees. Including health, livelihood, shelter, and non-food items.

17,947 Number of internally displace persons in Basateen neighborhood.
